Enjoy your time away from school. Hang out with your friends and find a good book to read at the beach or on an airplane. Try Reading Rants or Guys Lit Wire for some great reading suggestions. The MHS library will be closed from June 13-August 25, 2009. There are no library services during summer school.

Monday Morning Book Review--Perfect Chemistry
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles follows a familiar theme the "bad boy" and the "good girl" get together. But Perfect Chemistry is so much more...Alex and Brittany are much more than the surface appears. This is a perfect beach read.

Picturing America--Selma-to Montgormery March for Voting Rights in 1965

Selma-To-Montgomery March for Voting Rights in 1965 by James Karales located at the end of the A-aisle. In August of 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act. In March of 1965, these marchers made their way to the capital of Alabama to fight for those rights. This photograph was taken along the way.
Imagine where the photographer placed himself in order to take this picture. How does this viewpoint emphasize the message and the drama of the scene?
