Tuesday Tip--Searching

Do you ever get frustrated with unwanted items in your searches? Try eliminating ideas. For example, ninth grade English students are researching Greek gods for their mythology unit.

A google search on Hercules results in 39,300,000 hits which include a chemical company, the Disney movie and a city in Northern California.

Searching: Hercules -Disney -movie -city -chemical reduces the hits to 17,600,000

Adding: +myth to the end of the above search narrows it to 330,000 hits and the majority on the first page are now related to Greek mythology.
