Picturing America--Selma-to Montgormery March for Voting Rights in 1965

Selma-To-Montgomery March for Voting Rights in 1965 by James Karales located at the end of the A-aisle. In August of 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act. In March of 1965, these marchers made their way to the capital of Alabama to fight for those rights. This photograph was taken along the way.

Imagine where the photographer placed himself in order to take this picture. How does this viewpoint emphasize the message and the drama of the scene?
