Monday Morning Book Review--Project 17

Project 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz combines the feel of a scary movie combined with a teenage coming of age story.  One reviewer described it as Blair Witch meets the Breakfast Club and that is the right description for those who have seen those movies.  Derik decides to enter a student film contest and decides that the old mental hospital slated for demolition is the perfect location.  He recruits 5 other students to help him with the project each of whom has their own reasons for saying yes.  The night of filming takes each person on an interesting if frightening journey of discovery.
