Monday Morning Book Review--City of Bones

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare is book one in the Mortal Instruments series which was checked out regularly last year.  So, I put the series on my summer reading list.  I would describe this series as Harry Potter meets Twilight--if you like the idea of vampires, werewolves and otherworldly creatures you'll enjoy this series.  If you like the idea of magic, fighting the evil overlord, you'll like this series.  Clary discovers she's not the mundane she thought she was but rather the daughter of Shadowhunters.  Book 1 takes you through Clary's discovery that the world she knew is not the world she really inhabits.  It's a good read with some fun twists.  Fans of Twilight, Harry Potter, Uglies and even the Hunger Games series' would enjoy this series too.
