Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford takes place during World War II and 1980's in Seattle. Henry Lee witnesses the display of WWII artifacts from Japanese internees found in and old hotel. The discovery sparks Henry's memories of his friend and the story unfolds between memory and Henry's present life. Part romance, part history lesson the title sums up the story it is both bitter and sweet.
