Monday Morning Book Review--The Caged Graves
The Caged Graves by Dianne K. Salerni is a historical fiction novel centering around two graves that are in cages in a cemetery in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. Two years after the Civil War, Verity Boone returns home to marry the man she's been writing letters. It's a match made of convenience for her father's land and a local boy that took care of it while her father was away. Upon her return, she discovers her mother's grave and aunt's grave are caged and outside the cemetery walls. Why? The story unlocks the mystery of the caged graves, with a love triangle and hidden Revolutionary War treasure to add to the intrigue. These graves actually exist and you can read more about them here.
