Monday Morning Book Review--Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.  This book has always intrigued me because the photographs that Riggs uses are real black and white photos from a bygone era.  Riggs builds the story around these "peculiar" children who appear to have special powers.  Jacob, the main character, travels to a remote island off of the coast of England to find the home his grandfather lived in during WWII.  Once on the island, he encounters these peculiar children in a most unique way.  Part fantasy, part horror story with some time travel elements keeps the reader wondering what will happen next.
