Monday Morning Book Review--Countdown

Countdown  by Deborah Wiles takes the reader back to 1962 and the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Franny knows how to duck and cover in the event of a nuclear attack, but why is her family falling apart?  Wiles' documentary novel uses primary source materials--photos, music, documents from the time to illustrate the turmoil that was the beginning of the 1960's.  You can see some of the videos and hear some of the music profiled in the book here.
