Half Bad by Sally Green--Nathan lives with his grandmother and half siblings in England. He eagerly awaits his 17th birthday when he will receive his "gifts". There's a problem--he's half black witch and half white witch and that means he's "half bad" and viewed as dangerous from the hunters and white witches who keep him caged for his own protection according to them. It doesn't help that his father that he's never met is the most evil of Black Witches.
